Ang Lee's 2000 Academy Award-winning, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," is set be followed up February of next year with a sequel officially called, "The Green Legend," airing in Netflix and IMAX theaters worldwide.

After sixteen years, a sequel to the famous martial arts movie from the Chinese brings Michelle Yeoh back to the limelight, joined by some of the East's top caliber actors and actresses.

Just this Monday, Netflix has released an official trailer and poster for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2," which is currently being called "Sword of Destiny."

Directed by renowned martial arts choreographer and filmmaker, Yuen Wo-Ping, the film is set to feature Yeoh as Yu Shu-Lien alongside "Monkey King 3D's," Donnie Yen, playing the "Silent Wolf."

Also cast in the film are "Glee's," Harry Shum Jr., Jason Scott Lee of "Seventh Son," Roger Yuan from "Bulletproof Monk," Eugenia Yuan from "Revenge of the Green Dragons," and newbie, Natasha Liu Bordizzo.

According to ComingSoon.net, the sequel is based on the Crane-Iron Pentalogy's final book, "Iron Knight, Silver Vase" from author Wang Dulu, with the script penned by "Marco Polo's," John Fusco.

Sitting in the producer's seat is Harvey Weinstein of "The Artist," together with Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey, who were both responsible for the success of "Friday Night Lights."

The sequel follows up the original "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and is set 20 years from the events of the first movie and is said to revolve around the heroes' quest to protect the sword of "Green Destiny."

According to FirstShowing.net, the film has a budget that is "multiple of that for the 2000 film," distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.

Unfortunately, not all are excited for the follow up with the outlet noting how the sequel is "updated and not in the best of ways."

"This isn't the same "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" we all remember, it's been updated and not in the best of ways. Now the CGI work is even more obvious, but I guess they had to top themselves somehow," the outlet explained.

This is not surprising considering how big the first movie was, which Screen Rant believes has launched Lee with the reputation of being an arthouse director.

"'Crouching Tiger" thrust him into the limelight, giving English-speaking audiences their first in-depth look at warriors battling one another mid-air, in a technique now commonly known as wire fu. It was a critical and commercial success for Lee, ruling the box-office and bringing in four Oscars," the outlet explained.
