iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors Update: 'Big' iPhone Coming May 2014, Separate From iPhone 6 in September, Says Report
A "big-sized" iPhone is reportedly ready to made its debut during 2014, according to Yahoo! News in Japan.
The report from Japan stated the "big-sized" iPhone will be part of a new series of Apple smartphones.
In regards to a release date, the "big" iPhone will not follow the latest launch trends of a September debut but instead may debut in May. The regular-sized iPhone, likely the iPhone 6, is still projected to debut in September 2014.
For the specifications, the Yahoo! News report from Japan notes that the phone is not expected to sport an A8 processor chip. The "big-sized" iPhone may be equipped with the A7 processor seen with the current iPhone 5s model.
The report of a bigger iPhone model comes as Latino Post reported about Apple allegedly planning to produce a 4.7-inch model and a 5.7-inch model. Of the two alleged iPhone models, one will feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The report, originally from Weibo in China, noted an eye recognition component could be added onto the Apple smartphone.
In addition, a South Korean report recently claimed a thinner iPhone 6 model was planned for September. Meanwhile, a seperate report alleged that the iPhone 5s is expected to receive a $100 on-contract price cut with a mobile carrier in May.
What do you think about Apple reportedly planning a bigger iPhone and slashing the iPhone 5s price by May?
