'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice': Doomsday Featured in New Trailer? Trailer, Release Date & News [Watch]
The premiere of "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" is just around the corner and an explosive new trailer released proves just how amazing the film really is.
According to Cinema Blend, Zack Snyder's new flick is about to hit theaters during the first quarter of 2016, but footage -- both official and leaked -- have been scarce for the past few months, making Thursday's release a significant breakthrough.
The recently released clip tackled both Batman's and Superman's motivation in what appears to be a brewing tension between the characters.
However, the latter part of the trailer presents an even more interesting introduction of a new character: Doomsday.
Check it out.
Previous reports cited rumors about this new character based on the famed DC Comics villain who, in "Dawn of Justice," was created by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) from the Kryptonian DNA he acquired from the deceased General Zod played by Michael Shannon.
Cinema Blend notes that in the clip, Luthor seemed to be very keen on creating what the outlet described as a "monster so strong that Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman would have to join forces" to defeat it.
The film's recently released trailer shows what we all know so far: the Dark Knight vows to put Superman to justice after the Kryptonian failed to prevent massive destruction during his fight with Zod in the 2013 Snyder flick, "Man of Steel."
According to Screen Rant, the basis of the titular battle between the two DC heroes is a bit longer than its comic book source, although the exact length is still a mystery.
"Just how far this goes into forming the basis of the knock-down, drag-out brawl is unknown, however. The movie's version is, by all accounts thus far, significantly longer than its comic book predecessor, and this by itself opens up a huge can of worms," the outlet explained.
Also, the clip also reveals the main orchestrator of the entire battle between the future "Justice League" members: Lex Luthor.
Eisenberg's rebooted version of Lex Luthor who appeared to be in an exchange with Amy Adams,' Lois Lane, dubbed the battle between the two heroes as the "greatest gladiator match in the history of the world."
This, says the outlet, implies that the full-haired version of the Superman villain was the one who had a hand in the development.
Of course, they are later presented with a threat so big that they need Wonder Woman's (Gal Gadot) help to take care of it.
The film is due in theaters on March 25, 2016.
