Rocket League's 'Snow Day' Coming Out This December 2015: Find Out More Details Here!
Vehicle soccer video game, "Rocket League," will release it's hockey-inspired mode called "Snow Day" this upcoming December 14 for PS4 players.
According to a PlayStation blog post, the new game mode will replace the "Mutator Mashup" online playlist.
"Boasting an ice-themed field and a heavy, disc-shaped puck, 'Snow Day' brings an awesome new twist to Rocket League's classic, football-fueled gameplay," added the blog post.
It also noted that this will come with a number of holiday-themed Garage items from "Winter Games," although PlayStation said these will be limited-time goodies, which can be unlocked through playing matches.
The "Winter Event" items include an "Xmas" Rocket Trail, "Blitzen" Topper, "Christmas Tree" Topper, "Sad Sapling" Topper, "Santa" Topper, "Candy Cane" Antenna and "Holiday Gift" Antenna.
IGN added that these items will drop less frequently than standard ones and then will only be available until January 4.
The same report added that on Dec.1, prior to the release of this new mode, the game will also have a new DLC, called Chaos Run.
"The DLC includes two new battle cars, Ripper and Grog, and a new area called "Wasteland," IGN added.
But gamers are not required to buy Chaos Run just to access the Wasteland arena, though they need to pay about $4 to buy "cool, post-apocalyptic exclusive battle cars and customization items."
In addition, TechTimes mentioned that this DLC will offer players Mad Max-style level designs, items, and other items, which revolve around the end of the world theme. There will also reportedly be two new paint types called Camo and Sun-Damaged and two new Rocket Trails (the Sandstorm, Nut and Bolts).
According to PlayStation, Psyonix's "Rocket League" enables players to enjoy the game using "booster-rigged vehicles that can be crashed into balls for incredible goals or epic saves across multiple, highly-detailed arenas."
The movements of the cars rely mostly on mass and momentum, which enable players to completely have control over the vehicles.
Among its great features include the Season Mode, which gives player the chance to enjoy a single-player experience, unlock items and vehicles, car customizations and broadcast quality replays.
GameSpot, on the other hand, gave a 9 rating (Superb) for the game, saying that it includes "sublime ball play using cars and gameplay offers for newcomers that lets them contribute to their teams."
It also noted that the game combined two wonderful concepts -- cars and soccer-- and in the right manner, which made them a perfect match, even though they are entirely different.
"You can't say the same thing about, say, combining cake and fruit to make fruitcake, as the comedian Jim Gaffigan observed," added GameSpot.
