Lady Gaga in V Magazine: Songstress Invited to Be Guest Editor of Her Own Cover
Lady Gaga was not only featured as the guest editor of V Magazine for its upcoming January 2016 issue, but was also the face of the spread, gracing the magazine cover. It is yet another achivement on Lady Gaga's already impressive list of accomplishments, who is otherwise known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in real life.
According to V Magazine, the songstress returned again after doing seven covers in six years. The publication said that Lady Gaga can do almost everything in the entertainment world, from writing songs to acting. She has even been referred to as a so-called fashion icon and this time, V Magazine gave her yet another new label: "magazine editor."
In fact, this is the first for V Magazine's history to have a guest editor-in-chief for its first issue of the coming year. Lady Gaga celebrated the creative community by adding the biggest names in fashion for the forthcoming spread.
"This issue of 'V' is about all of these people coming together to express a passion for art and fashion, to really 'go there' to make a great statement and to change things..." the actress said. "I feel like we all share an appetite for living a life of passion and creativity...it's like we all found our immortality through art and fashion...we share that deep spiritual place."
"These are people who have protected me over the years, because they've wanted me to survive...that's part of the message of this issue: we have to carry each other through the decades and take care of one another and honor each other's work...," the hitmaker added. "I am saying thank you to all these people for everything they've given to me...I want to make sure the world knows who they are...it's a guard of people...I call them my Fashion Guard!"
Stephen Gan, the Editor in Chief of "V" Magazine, explained why choosing Lady Gaga for the cover and as a guest editor of their spread "was a no-brainer," as reported by E! Online. "She's part musician, part notorious style setter, and part opinionated editor with strong convictions," he said.
"Over the past six years of knowing each other, Lady Gaga and I often talk about her editing an issue of 'V,' after all, she had been on the cover four times." He also added, "She is gathering together true talents and all those who have inspired her about art and fashion...her closest collaborators...for what I hope will be a surprising and groundbreaking Spring Preview issue."
The V99 Spring Preview Issue will be available on Jan. 14, 2016.
