iPhone 6 Features, Release Date Rumors: Apple Inc. (AAPL) Sixth-Generation Smartphone in Two Models for Q3 2014
The sixth-generation Apple smartphone might birth a larger size iPhone based on new reports circulating in China.
Weibo reports that the iPhone 6 will be split between two variants. The report was based from leaks stemming at the Foxconn manufacturing company, which has produced Apple's iPhones.
If the alleged report is proven accurate, the iPhone 6 will see a 4.7-inch model and a 5.7-inch model.
"There are even hints at the display possibly even crossing the 5.7-inch mark," reported GSMArena.
Of the two alleged iPhone 6 models, one will feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The report noted an eye recognition component could be added onto the Apple smartphone.
In regards to a release date, if Apple follows the same release pattern, the iPhone 6 could see a launch during the third quarter of 2014.
"Normally we would have been skeptical of this kind of rumors, but since Apple has already broken tradition once last year (by launching the 'colorful' iPhone 5C alongside the iPhone 5S), and with this report coming from the aforementioned sources (these guys have been way more often right than wrong), we're inclined to say that this is definitely in the cards," noted GforGamers' Vlad Andrici. "Samsung's line of phablets has been really successful so there's no doubt that Apple want a piece of that pie."
As seen with most rumors and speculation, Apple has not commented on the alleged two iPhone 6 models.
What do you think of a 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch iPhone? What other features would you like Apple to adopt?
