Nokia Lumia 520 vs. Nokia Lumia 521 Windows Phone 8 Market Share: Lumia 520 Tops All WP8 Lumia Smartphones, Says AdDuplex
When it comes to Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 520 apparently is the top choice among consumers.
According to figures by AdDuplex, the Lumia 520 was the most utilized Windows Phone 8 device for another consecutive month based on data collection worldwide. The Lumia 520 represented 39.3 percent of all Windows Phone 8 devices, which was 28.5 percentage points ahead of the next Windows Phone 8 smartphones.
As Latino Post reported, the Lumia 520 was also named the top overall Windows Phone device worldwide.
The Lumia 920, similar to the overall Windows Phone data, accounted for second place with 10.8 percentage points. The Lumia 920 narrowly finished ahead of the Lumia 620, which garnered 10.3 percent of the market share by AdDuplex.
The Lumia 720 finished fourth with 7.4 percent. The Lumia 820 rounded up the top five Windows Phone 8 devices with 6.8 percent.
The Lumia 521 placed seventh with 4.2 percent.
Two non-Nokia Lumia devices ranked among the top 10 Windows Phone 8 devices chart by AdDuplex. The HTC 8S and HTC 8S finished ninth and 10th places, respectively.
According to AdDuplex, Nokia was the top Windows Phone 8 manufacturer with 92.1 percent of the market share against 5.2 percent for HTC, 1.6 percent for Samsung, and 1.1 percent for Huawei.
The Windows Phone 8 platform also represented for 78.3 percent of the total Windows Phone platforms while the Windows Phone 7 was responsible for 21.7 percent of devices.
The AdDuplex report consisted of data from 2,499 Windows Phone apps utilizing the AdDuplex SDK version 2. The data was gathered and analyzed on Dec. 27.
