Sony Xperia Z6 Out Next Year? Specs, Features & Price
Sony's highly anticipated follow-up to the Sony Xperia Z5 has already seen its fair share of rumors. Sony has been buying its time into releasing its latest flagship, and it looks like it is taking a cue from Apple and its new 3D Touch technology.
According to a report with Uber Gizmo, the upcoming Sony Xperia Z6 will be employing its own version of the 3D Touch technology with a pressure sensitive display. The report added that Sony might rely on third-party suppliers like Synaptics for its pressure-sensitive display screens.
Like its predecessor, the Xperia Z6 will sport a fingerprint scanner for added security features. While the Xperia Z5 is fairly new to the market, there are already speculations that the Xpera Z6 will outshine its predecessor specs-wise and feature wise.
In a previous report with Latinos Post, Sony's upcoming flagship will maintain its signature look-sleek and sporting a square shape. The Sony Xperia Z6 will also most likely sport a 5.5-inch screen. Sony is known to follow a certain formula when it comes to releasing its devices. The company is known to limiting the release of its flagship devices to once a year. There are already speculations that the Sony Xperia Z6 will be released by the second quarter of 2016.
The Sony Xperia Z6 will also be waterproof, as with the previous Xperia Z models. With this comes a sharp 4K display and will be equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 820 processor that Sony seems to have employed during its past flagship phones. The Sony Xperia Z6 will most likely come with 4GB of RAM. Storage variants, on the other hand, may come in 16 GB and 32GB options.
The Sony Xperia line is also known for its excellent camera features. When the first Sony Xperia Z came out, the flagship boasted of a 13.1 MP camera. Sony does not disappoint with its camera on its flagships, giving users the ability to take gorgeous photos with its superior design. Sony may improve the autofocus of its upcoming flagship phone with a 30 MP rear camera as well as Dual LED flash. The front camera will most likely be at 8 MP, for those who want to take that all-important killer selfie.
Fresh off the box, the Sony Xperia Z6 will be running on Android Marshmallow 6.0. It is also expected to rock a USB Type C port for a microSD card to expand its memory. The phone is rumored to be priced at $600-$700. As there are no official announcements as of yet, treat all rumors with a grain of salt.
