HTC Evo 4G LTE Update Release Date: Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 Coming in February

If everything goes according to plan and HTC America president Jason Mackenzie is right, HTC Evo 4G LTE owners should see Android 4.3 Jelly Bean hit their handsets in February.

Mackenzie recently took to Twitter to answer a question from a concerned HTC Evo 4G LTE owner, and stated that the upgrade should roll out half a month after hitting the Sprint labs for certification in mid-January.

Mackenzie also expressed disappointment with the release of the update, stating that HTC had originally intended for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Evo 4G LTE to release at the end of December.

HTC revealed in December that it had run into technical problems and that it would have to push back the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the handset. What exactly those problems were wasn't revealed, but it should only be a month now before the almost-two-year-old handset gets a shiny new firmware.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will bring all the usual bells and whistles that new Android versions sport: security enhancements, performance improvements, and more customization options for users. The new addition most users will most likely notice, however, should be Sense 5. While it's not the latest version of HTC's user interface (that would be Sense 5.5), Sense 5 drastically overhauls the interface with more content aggregation than ever before thanks to BlinkFeed.

It's almost certain that this will be the last update the Evo 4G LTE receives, and that there is no Android 4.4 KitKat around the corner.
