ISIS News: Terrorist Group Makes Biggest Threat to US In New Video [Watch]
The Islamic State is seemingly invincible, as the terrorist group recently released a shocking new video, this time, with threats against the U.S.
In a report by Reuters, ISIS militants released on Thursday a video threatening the White House with suicide bombings and car blasts, adding that they will conduct more attacks on France.
The video, which is six minutes long, showed the group applauding last week's Paris attacks, as noted by a translation provided for by the Maryland-based SITE Intelligence group. This latest threat comes just a day after the ISIS released a video showing shots of New York City, suggesting that it is also among their target cities.
However, Mayor Bill de Blasio is undeterred, saying late Wednesday about the threats, "The people of New York City will not be intimidated. We understand it is the goal of terrorists to intimidate and disrupt our democratic society. We will not submit to their wishes."
Western Journalism also noted that an ISIS fighter proclaimed in a segment called "Paris Before Rome", "Oh Crusader France, Allah willing we shall pulverize your palaces. Allah willing, you shall know no happiness, and will not live for long. We started with you and we shall finish with the false White House, which we shall render black with our fire, Allah willing. We shall blow it up like we blew up the false idols in this good land."
Another added, "Allah willing, we shall roast them with [explosive] belts and car bombs. We should follow them wherever they may go and Allah willing, we should lead them like slaves, like dogs."
While it's not clear what the "Paris Before Rome" statement means, The Daily Mail noted that it could be a threat to the Italian capital, which has been on high alert since the terrorist attacks on Paris last Friday. Italian authorities have already increased the security at major cultural sites, which are suspected to be the targets of the extremist group.
Upon viewing the video, State Department Spokesman John Kirby said that it is being examined to determine its veracity, although he added, "Everybody here in the United States government is taking these threats seriously."
CNN terrorism analyst Paul Cruickshank agreed that the authorities could not just ignore the video, even if it turns out not credible of a threat. "I think they have to treat it quite seriously because ISIS is the richest terrorist group in history. It has an extraordinary number of Western recruits," he shared.
"One of its biggest ambitions right now is to a launch a terrorist attack inside the United States," he added.
