'Mass Effect Andromeda' News, Release Date & Trailer: Lead Character Revealed? [Rumors]
The main character in the upcoming video game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" may just have been figured out by the fans.
IGN reported that fans looked closely at the recently released trailer of the game and spotted a clue.
In explaining the trailer, Screen Rant said that it showed that Commander Shepard will not anymore be the protagonist in the game since his story already ended in the "Mass Effect 3."
"The teaser starts with footage from mankind's earliest forays into space travel, notably including a clip featuring Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel to space. Immediately following her appearance, the video shows the cockpit of a ship leaving our galaxy behind," added the same report.
It noted that when the cockpit was shown, it had a family photo which could be that of the new main character.
But the most interesting revelation in the trailer was spotted by a fan who closely scrutinised the entire footage. According to Reddit user Benelioto, a dog tag seen on the 0.44-second frame of the video shows a name that looks like "Ryder" or "Rider."
The fan said that this name could be referring to Ride. It was also noted by the user that this could be highly possible since the game's former protagonist "was named after the first American man in space, Alan Shepard."
This speculation, as per IGN, may also be the reason why Ghost Riders in the Sky by Johnny Cash was used in the teaser trailer.
Game developer BioWare has yet to answer speculations about the game including its music but studio director Yanick Roy mentioned in a tweet that the company will reveal the reasons why they chose the said song for the trailer.
The IGN report noted that the next Mass Effect instalment is set to be released next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Once it becomes available in the market, Eurogamer said that the game will be set in a new regions of space.
"Navigation of that region will take place in a more fluid Galaxy Map, with the worlds themselves appearing as wide alien expanses, something which supports the now-confirmed return of vehicular exploration," added the same report.
Gamers should also expect that one home planet will feature an "idyllic world" which has the balance of nature and technology.
"The other new world is something of the opposite. It looks like something the borg would make - dark, angular, hostile," Eurogamer added.
These teasers of the game make players more excited for its release since great developments are to be expected.
