iPad Pro vs. Surface Pro 4 Specs & Feature Comparison: Apple Device Leagues Away from Microsoft's Hybrid Tablet?
Recent reviews have claimed that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4's performance is better than Apple's iPad Pro.
Apple Insider reported that Apple's new 12.9-inch tablet has an impressive panel with Retina display, but the iPad mini 4's screen is superior and even the Surface Pro 4 comes out on top compared to the iPad Pro.
The test between the two tablets were published on Tuesday on DisplayMate by Raymond Soneira, who ranked the iPad Pro's display as "very good" or better in all test categories. The tablet's panel was ranked with an "A-" score altogether.
DisplayMate's logarithmic intensity scale measured that the dings on the iPad Pro was "slightly irregular." Soneira noted that was an odd distinction, given that each iPad and iPhone display tested by the tech giant since 2012 has showcased "near perfect" Log-Straight Intensity scales.
The news outlet's report also indicated that the iPad Pro performed at a slightly lower level on some tests than the Surface Pro 4. When it comes to color accuracy, Apple's tablet is "very good" but with small color errors, while the Surface Pro 4 got an "excellent" rating in a recent test also conducted by DisplayMate.
Microsoft's hybrid device received an overall display grade of "A," which is equivalent to the outstanding rating also earned by the iPad mini 4 and triumphed over the "A-" of the iPad Pro. In spite of the flaws, DisplayMate still considers the iPad Pro's screen as "a top-tier display."
The news outlet also noted that the iPad Pro bested the Surface Pro 4 in terms of one vital category: screen reflectance. The tablet's reduced glare panel has a reflectance rate of only 2.6 percent, effortlessly succeeding over the Surface Pro 4's 5.6 percent reflectance.
