Sony Xperia SP Android Update Release Date: Android 4.3 Jelly Bean 'Will Be Out Soon,' Sony Confirms
It's not the most comforting of news, but Sony's Xperia team has confirmed that the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia SP "will be out soon."
Sony recently began updating a slew of Xperia devices to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, prompting many Xperia SP owners to wonder when they will get a taste of the new firmware. Looks like there were enough requests for information that the Sony Xperia team had to take to Twitter to quell some fears.
@ConnorDohertyUK Hi, the update will be out soon, please stay tuned through our blogs, we are sorry for all inconveniences.

Despite the fact the wording is quite vague and that Sony also tweets that there is still no exact release date, signs indicate that it won't be long before Android 4.3 Jelly Bean lands on the Xperia SP. As The Latino Post reported earlier, a supposed beta tester from Hungary recently posted pictures on XDA Developer forums showing off his Sony Xperia SP running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, indicating that the build should be finalized soon.
If the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the Sony Xperia SP is similar to the ones pushed out for the Xperia Z lineup, then expect Sony's Smart Social Camera, the latest version of all Sony apps, downloadable "Xperia Themes," and a Stamina mode designed to extend battery life.
Sony has also confirmed that the Sony Xperia SP will receive Android 4.4 KitKat, although that won't happen until 2014.
