'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer, Tickets & Poster: Is This Why Luke Skywalker is Missing? [Spoilers]
Promotional material for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" still has not shown where Luke Skywalker is hiding or being hidden in but reports may already have revealed the reason behind his absence.
On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly unveiled some of the most stunning photos of "The Force Awakens" cast and crew during the filming of the show. It includes photos of Daisy Ridley's Rey tinkering with her Speeder, a scavenged item that is made from a beat-up tractor, according to production designer Darren Gilford.
Two photos are dedicated to John Boyega's Finn and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron who appears to be
cuffed and beaten up in one of the images.
Another depicts what looks like an oncoming battle between Adam Driver's Kylo Ren, Rey and Finn in a
snowy woodland with the Vader-obsessed villain firing up his scarlet lightsaber.
The rest of the photos are composed of action shots and scene crops showing other characters like Han
Solo (Harrison Ford), Chewbacca, BB-8 and many others-but not Luke Skywalker.
Eye-catching and spectacular as they are, these images do not reveal or even give a slightest hint as to
where the original character is located and why he is hidden from all the marketing paraphernalia for
"The Force Awakens" released so far.
Fortunately, We Got This Covered shared some of their theories on the matter based on images from
EW mixed in with a healthy dose of speculations. Apparently, it involves Finn, one of the new protagonists of the intergalactic film, who turned out to be a
former Stormtrooper.
"It turns out the new breed of Stormtroopers are basically born into servitude to the First Order, and
from an early age they're filled full of propaganda about how the Rebels and the Jedi were actually the
bad guys," the report began.
According to the site, this may be the reason why Finn seem to be under the impression that the former
Jedi Knight is the "villain who destroyed the benevolent Empire."
The report further speculated that new "Star Wars" character wields Luke Skywalker's blue lightsaber in
a quest to use it to "put an end to him" and not to return the weapon to its original owner.
If this is true, the outlet then assumed that Luke is in self-imposed exile because about half the galaxy
believes that he and other Jedis are the villains and not the heroes of the galaxy.
