Sony Xperia Z5 Premium - Specs & Features
Sony's site touted the Xperia Z5 Premium, which was announced at the IFA 2015, as "the world's first 4K smartphone." Its 5.5-inch 4K UHD screen (3840x2160) is at 806 PPI and has a Triluminos display for mobile. The device is also equipped with a 23MP camera with Hybrid Autofocus and is capable of 4K video recording, along with a 5MP front-facing shooter.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 and a 64-bit Octa Core processor power the Xperia Z5 Premium, with the Android 5.1 Lollipop serving as its operating system, the site added. Other specs include a 3GB RAM, a 3430 mAh battery with a 2-day stamina, waterproof and dust tight feature, fingerprint sensor, and Chrome, Black, and Gold color variants. Its Quick Charger can also provide hours of battery usage in just 10 minutes of charging.
Aside from these, the Xperia Z5 Premium can easily connect to a 4K TV through Wi-Fi using DLNA, or through an MHL 3.0 connector, Sony's site further wrote. Listening clearly to music is possible through the device's High-Resolution Audio, as well as its Digital Noise Cancelling support that blocks out external sound.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium - Reviews
Tech Radar noted that the Xperia Z5 Premium has the same metal rim seen on the normal Xperia Z5, along with the engraved Xperia logo and nylon corners to protect the handset against drops. Irish Examiner wrote that the device's back plate is reflective and "truly mirror-like," which is useful to those who like to take selfies using their primary cameras.
Irish Independent added that the smartphone's battery life is decent. With "plenty of camera use, 4K video watching, 3G and Wi-Fi browsing, social media and some gaming," the device's power lasted for a full day, which is notable for a smartphone with a large screen. The Stamina mode of the Xperia Z5 Premium can even make the battery life last longer by limiting the device's features.
The news outlet also took note of the handset's good performance in low light thanks to its camera's sensor technology.
