'Captain America: Civil War' Trailer, Cast & Teams: Printed Mugs Show Who Fights Who in 'Civil War'?v
There has not been a shortage of rumors about how the "Captain America: Civil War" would divide the Avengers but leaked images of merchandise for the film reveals who battles who.
A quick look at some 11-ounce heat change mugs in Entertainment Earth as cited by Comic Book Movie reveals some awesome battle scenes between the two warring teams led by Robert Downey's Iron Man and Chris Evans' Captain America.
According to the report, the artworks for the licensed merchandise have different designs that appear whenever the mugs are filled with hot liquid.
Some images show the teams adjacent each other with the words "Whose side are you on?" with the image of the teams' leaders, Captain America and Iron Man who are about to clash.
Two separate mugs shows both of them in an ominous standing pose with a symbol of their friend-turned-enemy in the background.
Another set features the words "power," "freedom" and "justice" in overlay with action-packed photos of the characters including a clash between the Super Soldier and Black Panther.
For those who are still not aware, the movie follows the faction of the Avengers because of the superhuman registration law being imposed by the government following massive devastation and skyrocketing collateral damage caused by superhero activity.
The images show the Super Soldier's team under the word "freedom" while Iron Man's group is featured with the word "justice."
Team Cap includes Hawkeye, Falcon, Ant-Man and Bucky Barnes, who was known as the Winter Soldier in the second "Captain America" solo film while Team Iron Man is composed of Vision, Black Panther and the War Machine powered by Stark's pal, 'Rhodey' Rhodes.
According to Screen Rant, this suggests that the film's plot would be generally following the same theme as that of the comic books which revolve around the catastrophic event caused during a battle between the New Warriors and the villain Nitro which resulted in over 600 deaths.
This has not been featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so it is possible that the studio would be picking up from the latest Avengers film "Age of Ultron" since it features a battle big enough to result to massive destruction and huge collateral damage.
Aside from Evans and Downey, the film also stars Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Chadwick Boseman, Daniel Brühl, Emily VanCamp, William Hurt, Frank Grillo and Martin Freeman.
It is set to hit the theaters on May 6, 2016.
