HTC One A9 vs iPhone 6S: Specs, Feature & Price comparison
The upcoming HTC One A9 is said to be a very close copy of the iPhone 6s with HTC reportedly making this move to up their dipping sales for the past years.
But how do the two phones fair with each other in terms of features?
Design
In terms of design, TechRadar said that the two phones are hard to distinguish from one another if not for their logos.
"Both have fairly plain metal shells with antenna lines running along near the top and bottom, both have slightly rounded corners and both have fingerprint scanners below the screen," added the same report.
It also noted that the iPhone 6s is 7.1mm thick while the HTC device is a bit thicker at 7.26mm but the two weigh the same at 143g.
Display
GSM Arena noted that the iPhone 6S has a 4.7-inch LED touchscreen display while the HTC One A9 phone has a bigger 5-inch display with a higher resolution at 1080 x 1920.
Camera
As for the camera, the HTC website indicated that the One A9 will have a 13MP camera with autofocus and BSI sensor while its front camera is equipped with HTC UltraPixel.
The iPhone 6s, according to GSM Arena, has a 12MP front camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. Its secondary camera is 5MP with face detection and HDR.
Other features
Both devices have their security features with HTC One A9 equipped with a fingerprint scanner while the iPhone 6s has Touch ID Sensor.
"The iPhone 6S also has a pressure-sensitive 3D Touch screen. Music fans may want to take a closer look at the HTC One A9 though, as that supports high-resolution audio, so you can get the most out of your tracks," added TechRadar.
Price
The same report noted that the HTC One A9 will cost around $399 for its 32GB variant when it becomes available in the market. The iPhone 6s, on the other hand, costs $649.
Controversy in phones' similarities
The makeup of both phones has become controversial add it to the fact that the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer copied an Apple 1984 commercial.
In the commercial dubbed as "Be Brilliant," 9to5Mac highlighted that HTC conveyed to the public that they should "aspire to be unique, be loud, be inspired, be free and be brilliant."
This reportedly has a great resemblance to the 1984 commercial Macintosh advertisement.
Taking all things into consideration, TechRadar said the HTC device is a promising device to substitute an iPhone 6s for a cheaper price. It even comes with a larger display and a sharper screen.
But it also noted that iPhone fans and users may not be easily swayed to buy this phone instead of an Apple device.
