Top 5 Worst Games of 2013
This year had some amazing games such as The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, and Grand Theft Auto 5, but 2013 also had some true stinkers. In celebration of the games that made us cringe this year, here are the top five worst games of 2013.
5. Ride to Hell: Retribution - This game sought to give players a taste of what it is like to be in an outlaw motorcycle game. However, what it ends up offering is mediocre gameplay, and a huge amount of glitches that actually make the game slightly more entertaining due their insane nature (players disappearing, enemies growing huge, and checkpoints being saved just before a player is killed). Throw in some degrading bit parts for the women in the game and this is one of the worst in 2013.
4. Aliens: Colonial Marines - The idea behind this game is a slam dunk. In execution, however, this game is completely terrible. Glitches combined with absolutely horrible AI ruins the game and takes players out of what should be terrifying sequences. In addition, a Wii U version of the game was promised before it quietly was canceled after fans got a hold of the other versions of the game and realized how broken Aliens: Colonial Marines was. An actual fight with the Aliens is preferable to this game.
3. Dark - When a player's success depends on the AI doing something moronic or the level design allowing players to exploit weakness to reach the end, something is wrong with a game. Dark attempts to mix vampires with stealth, but what ends up happening is players slowly creep around a level and do trial and error until the game is over. If you like meandering around like a turtle, then Dark is the game for you.
2. The Fighter Within - With the release of this game, the next-gen consoles had their first big flop. This Xbox One games uses the Kinect to give players a conniption as they struggle to even navigate through the game's menu. If players get far enough to make it to the actual game, then they can enjoy flailing around as their character does the opposite of what they are trying to accomplish.
1. Ashes Cricket 2013 - The only game in history to be canceled after it was released, this game spawn a large amount of Youtube videos dedicated to the glitches in the game. If you were lucky enough to buy the game before it was taken off Steam, then you can enjoy one of the true epic failures in video game history.
