‘Bloodborne: The Old Hunters’ Edition DLC, Weapons & Trailer: Everything You Need to Know
A brand new trailer of the upcoming "Bloodborne" installment, "The Old Hunters," has been unveiled during Sony's press conference at Paris Games Week on Tuesday.
The video showcased the first expansion's gameplay, a new arsenal of weapons, more grotesque monsters, and fresh environments to explore, Siliconera wrote. Watch the trailer below.
"Bloodborne: Old Hunters," developed by From Software, will be released on Nov. 24 for the price of $19.99, while the Game of the Year Edition will launch in Europe on Nov. 25 for the PlayStation 4, Siliconera reported.
Additionally, From Software will be offering a new physical release of the game on Dec. 3 called "Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Edition," according to Anime News Network. The main "Bloodborne" game will be included in the release, as well as all the content of "The Old Hunters" expansion.
As quoted by Anime News Network, Sony's description of the expansion reads: "Experience the nightmare of the hunters who once guarded Byrgenwerth's deepest, darkest secrets and uncover the mystery behind Yharnam's sinister past and in 'The Old Hunters' expansion DLC for 'Bloodborne.' Journey to a world where hunters from the past are trapped forever, find multiple new outfits and weapons to add to your hunter arsenal, and explore brand new stages full of dangers, rewards, and deadly beasts to hunt."
In an interview with GameSpot, series producer Masaaki Yamagiwa said that the game centers on an overall expansion.
"We want to expand the strategies players can use in battle--more weapons, more items, that sort of thing. That was our focus with the DLC. That said, the setting for the new DLC is a nightmare where the Old Hunters have been trapped," Yamagiwa told the news outlet.
He continued, "Among the Old Hunters are people mentioned in the main story; Ludwig is a character who's mentioned in the main story. He is one of the Hunters trapped in this world. In that sense, it is an expansion of the story and you will learn more of the lore and mythos of Yharnam in the process."
At least 10 new weapons are going to be featured in the expansion, GameSpot reported. There are also new costumes for the characters.
Via the official Twitter page for "Bloodborne," a separate report from GameSpot revealed a new weapon called "Juunikutachi." The weapon bears close resemblance to the original game's Saw Cleaver, but also appears to be made out of multiple modules. This suggests that it may function like the Threaded Cane, which can be broken apart and hit numerous enemies at the same time.
