‘Street Fighter’ V Beta, Characters Revealed So Far: Dhalsim Joins Roster
Street Fighter 5 has been given an official release date and it looks like new characters have already been added into the official roster. The game will be released on Feb. 16, 2016 on PC and Playstation 4 in both North America and Europe,
In a report with Anime News Network, Dhalsim has been added to the official roster of playable characters. The original character made his debut appearance in Street Fighter II an has since then become a returning character. The Indian yogi only joined the World Warrior tournament against his will in order to raise money for his village.
According to rumors, this might be the most agressive Dhalsim the franchise has seen thus far. In a report with Capcom Unity, the Indian warrior has still kept his Yoga Catastrophe but there might be an added twist to the character's design. The balls of flame would now travel in an arc as opposed to slowly moving horizontally.
While normally seen as a "zoning character" the Dhalsim of the latest installment seems to be a more proactive player in the scheme of things as opposed to the Indian yogi in the previous installments. Other playable characters in the roster that have officially been announced include Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Nash, M. Bison, Cammy, Birdie, Vega, Karin Kanzuki, Necalli, Rainbow Mika, Zangief, Laura, and Rashid.
The latest installment of the Street Fighter franchise will include 16 playable characters in the official roster-four of which brand new characters. Necalli, Rashid and Laura are the new characters who have been added to the game's franchise.
Laura is one the the game's new characters and is of Brazilian descent. Her specialty is Brazilian ju-jitsu and might remind some avid gamers of Tekken's Christie Montiero, who is from the Namco franchise. The character joins the roster of female characters and brings an interesting twist to the diverse roster.
Necalli is another upcoming fighter who has a wild personality similar to that of Blanka, but is more vicious. He also possesses an evil genius about him and is considered to be an Emissary of the Gods.
Rashid is another all-new fighter who will be making his debut in the latest installment of Street Fighter. He would be the second Arabic fighter after Pullum Purna. He is said to be the son of a Middle Eastern family who is out looking for his missing friend who was kidnapped by Shadaloo.
