‘Gravity Rush 2’ Release Date for the PS Vita & Trailer: Kat Gets New Abilities to Go with New Battle Modes
Sony Computer Entertainment released a new trailer for the upcoming game "Gravity Rush 2" during its Paris Games Week (PGW) 2015 press conference on Tuesday.
The first trailer, which you can watch below, introduces new styles of play and an additional regular gravity manipulation from the first game, Anime News Network wrote. The clip also sets up two gaming styles: the Luna style, which makes the character Kat lighter and quicker; and Jupiter style, which increases gravity and makes Kat slower and heavier, but more powerful. The video also showcases team battles.
The second trailer unveiled by director Keiichiro Toyama shows an extended look of the game's features. Watch the video below.
According to iDigitalTimes, users can still go back to Kat's original game mode from the first game. Players are allowed to switch between these game modes and use gravity to manipulate and wreck the environment as Kat's fights progresses.
The new "Gravity Rush 2" trailer also showcased the Tag Battle system. This mode contains the epic and challenging boss fights, as well as tag team battles that permit users to team up with an AI controlled ally. The example of this in the recently released trailer was Kat's pal, Raven, iDigitalTimes added.
"Whether you are brand new to the franchise, or want to relive the experience again, 'Gravity Rush Remastered' is the perfect opportunity to experience the magical story of Kat as she seeks answers to her mysterious gravity-defying powers and forgotten past," Sony said when it initially announced the arrival of "Gravity Rush" on PlayStation 4. All three original DLC packs (the Spy Pack, the Maid Pack, and the Military Pack) will come with the original title in its re-release.
"Gravity Rush 2" is launching on Oct. 2, 2016, Anime News Network wrote. A remastered PlayStation 4 version or the 2012 PlayStation Vita game "Gravity Rush" will be released on Dec. 10 in Japan, Feb. 9 in North America, and Feb. 10 in Europe.
"Gravity Rush 2" was developed by SCE Studios Japan and Bluepoint Games. The game first launched on PS Vita in 2012, while a sequel was first teased at TGS 2013, IGN wrote. The Korean Game Rating Board was responsible for its remaster when it rated the game to PS4.
In September, the game's Japanese collector's edition featured a fancy Figma figurine of the heroine Kat, IGN reported. The Kat toy is detailed and articulate and can be posed alongside her pet cat to fit any gravity-defying stances.
