'The Walking Dead' Season 6 Update: Is Glenn Really Dead? [Spoilers]
"The Walking Dead" Season 6 gave fans a heart attack after the TV series appeared to have killed off Glenn, one of the show's "unkillable" characters.
AMC's hit shows just broke the Internet after shocking fans with the most unexpected death of this season.
According to Cinema Blend, last Sunday's "The Walking Dead" episode just broke one of the "cardinal rules of television" which is to "never kill off the unkillable characters."
Based on the outlet's analysis, Glenn Rhee, portrayed by Steven Yeun, has as big a role in the show as Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes.
"First appearing in the second episode of The Walking Dead, 'Guts,' Glenn has been as big a part of this story as Rick (and obviously anyone else), although without AS much attention paid to him. And now he's gone," the report read.
The show's third episode for season 6 aired on October 25 saw Glenn and Nicholas (Michael Traynor) trapped on top of a dumpster after running down an alleyway from a huge herd of "walkers."
As it turns out, the entire situation got the better of Nicholas who then went into an ear-ringing anxiety attack which he had immediately snapped out of.
What was unexpected, though, was Nicholas' decision to put a bullet to his own head while saying the episode's title, "Thank You."
Unfortunately, he took Glenn down with him when his almost dead body knocked his buddy down the pile of gut-hungry zombies which later progressed into a gruesome scene where innards devoured by the "walkers" were scattered all over the place.
See for yourself.
While it may appear that Glenn is already dead, there are still hints that kept fans hoping with all their might that it was not the case.
In fact, Cinema Blend cited one which explains that the internal organs the "walkers" gnawed on actually belonged to Nicholas who, the theory explained, had fallen on top of Glenn thereby diverting the attention of the undead from his comrade.
Of course, such theory seems to have a very low probability considering how the "walkers" have an unending appetite and may have proceeded to gnaw on Glenn at some point after they gutted Nicholas.
To finally put speculations to rest, TV Line asked the show's executive producer Scott M. Gimple whether or not Glenn really is dead.
Unfortunately, the showrunner simply laughed before saying: "I'm not going to answer it."
When asked if the scene was deliberately shot or edited in a way that would allow a possibility of Glenn's survival, "It was shot the way it was shot and it was edited the way it was edited and that is always deliberate. I spend a lot of time on these cuts, so take that as you will," he answered.
What do you think happened?
