Halloween Costumes: Dead Disney Princesses Featured Photo Series
A makeup artist decided to relive the Disney Princesses by showing their real-life death in a photo series in time for the Halloween. Shonagh Scott recreated the life of these known iconic characters with a twist.
She had killed everybody’s favorite Queens by creating the disturbing images that, may be, ruined children’s childhood with a different makeup looks. According to Metro, the project was entitled “Happily Never After,” which showed Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White and Elsa with their tragic deaths.
Bored Panda cited that Shonagh made these brilliant images by taking photos of herself, showing the different Disney princesses’ ends based on their trademark stories. The “Twisted Princess” series will be the perfect theme for the nearing spooky season, if just one knows how to play with their cosmetics.
She perfectly tells their gruesome fates out of Shonagh’s creative imagination. Refinery29 perfectly summed up the Disney Princesses makeup as it highlights the domestic violence and societal expectations of women’s beauty standards.
First, Ariel was seen bleeding on her neck as her vocal chords was removed by her villain Ursula. By wearing her classical red hair and holding her fork comb, the princess still looked beautiful and fierce.
Belle of “Beauty and the Beast” experienced the wrath of her prince charming as she got the worst scratch on her face. Her stunning appearance was ruined by the love of her life.
Snow White had her face ruined by her wicked stepmother the Evil Queen, she was holding her sweet, red apple as the trail of the poison started to show off on her veins and melting her cheek.
Cinderella got the most creative death as her crystal slipper’s heel was poking on the side of her face. Shonagh described her creation as: "Cinders tripped down the stairs, face-planted her shoe, & impaled her face."
Lastly, Princess Elsa of “Frozen” got a piece of her super power as her won icicle got its way on her neck. She also got frost bites on her fingers as her own ability backfired on her.
