Taylor Swift Grants Dying Girl's Last Wish Days Before She Dies From Leukemia
Days before a sickly 8-year-old died, Taylor Swift made her ultimate wish come true.
Delaney "Laney" Ann Brown suffered from Leukemia until she took her last breath on Christmas Day. However, just days prior, Swift called the little girl on FaceTime to talk to her for her eighth birthday on Dec. 20, reports the Huffington Post.
A post on the Team Laney Facebook page described Brown's chat with Swift:
"...Laney got to fulfill another one of bucket list items..... to talk to Taylor Swift!!! Laney was so nervous to talk to her because she is such a "famous celebrity". I was actually worried that when Taylor Facetimed her that she would be to scared to talk but Taylor was fabulous!! She really engaged Laney in conversation. Laney lit up and had a huge smile on her face. I can't thank Taylor enough for taking time out from her family to make Laney's birthday very memorable. We will hold that memory in our hearts forever."
Brown, a Pennsylvania native who lived just up the road from where Swift was born, made national media attention last week when she added that she wanted to hear Christmas carolers to her bucket list. As a result, over four thousand people showed up in front of her house to sing Christmas songs, reports the Examiner. Brown was also granted wishes to pet an alligator and babysit an infant.
The award winning pop star heard about Brown's struggle with leukemia through the Make- A-Wish America foundation.
