'Captain America: Civil War' Trailer & Cast Spoilers: Is This The New Villain's Costume?
"Rush" star Daniel Brühl reveals that Baron Zemo won't be wearing his signature look in the upcoming Marvel film "Captain America: Civil War."
In an interview with the Business Insider, Brühl teased the fans of Marvel and "Captain America" about his upcoming role in the 2016 film.
"He does not wear the mask," he declared, referring to his character, Baron Zemo, a known adversary of The Captain.
According to Comic Book, Baron Zemo began wearing the purple mask and cloak costume in order to hide his identity. Unfortunately, his costume got stuck ever since a powerful adhesive substance he created, known as "Adhesive X," was spilled all over his body during an encounter with Captain America.
Brühl, who also starred in "Inglorious Bastards" back in 2009, warned that fans of the Marvel comic books who wish to watch "Captain America: Civil War" should not expect an exact replica of the Baron Zemo they knew in the comics.
This is because aside from the costume, Brühl revealed that the studio has created a more modern version of the villain and did not, in any way, stick to the comic book's storyline.
"You would be surprised, it's different than what you'd think. It's loosely connected to this character," he explained to the outlet while he was promoting his latest film "Burnt" where he stars alongside Bradley Cooper.
During the meeting, he also expressed his admiration for the people behind the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
"But that' what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they're dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think," he said.
When he was asked about his character's future in upcoming MCU films, all he said was: "There's a possibility. That's the way it's written."
The third "solo" film starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, set to hit the theaters on May 6, 2016, starts off where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" ended.
After another devastating incident in the Avengers' quest to safeguard humanity resulted to severe collateral damage, the government decided to pass a law that would establish the Superhuman Registration Act which would monitor all superhero activity.
The conflict begins when Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, approves of the law which requires masked superheroes "to unmask themselves before the government and subject themselves to federally mandated standards" -- something The Soldier does not approve.
They then form a faction in the Avengers, one led by the Captain and the other following Iron Man.
