Fallout 4 News, Trailer, and Countdown: Sneak Peak at the ‘The Wanderer’ Live-Action Trailer & All You Need to Know About S.P.E.C.I.A.L [Watch]
"Fallout 4" will hit stores in less than a month and Bethesda has kept gamers on their toes releasing trailer after trailer over the past few weeks. The last one the developers released was the live-action trailer titled "The Wanderer." It fully depicts the game's storyline in under a minute.
Bethesda writes a simple description for the trailer, which reads: "Before wandering the wasteland on November 10, watch the world of 'Fallout 4' come to life in this live-action trailer. Welcome Home."
According to the Inquisitr, the trailer perfectly depicts what players can expect from the game, including a nuclear wasteland, old robots, rad roaches, super mutants and power suits! The trailer starts off with the nuclear destruction of a 1950s future-retro town, then cuts to the main character opening Vault 111.
"The Wanderer" is the latest trailer released by Bethesda, which does not feature the new perk system. Prior to the live-action trailer, previous trailers have been discussing each part of the perk system, called S.P.E.C.I.A.L.. Each letter represents a certain stat:
- S - Strength
- P - Perception
- E - Endurance
- C - Charisma
- I - Intelligence
- A - Agility
- L - Luck
In another Inquisitr article, Bethesda explains: "When selecting your SPECIALs, you can assign 28 points. This makes it difficult to initially max out certain SPECIALs, but you can start with a 10 if you choose to neglect others."
Gamers can unlock up to 10 perks with each stat, provided they have the correct requirements. In order to access each perk the player must have a stat score of 10 and be at the right level. Each stat and its specific perks are discussed below, as explained by iDigital Times.
#1. Strength
Besides the usual traits, strength can enhance your character's ability to craft special gear and build strong weapons.
#2. Perception
Perception has many different uses, but its most important function has a lot to do with VATS, or Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System. VATS help players with their aim. Basically the higher your perception score, the higher the chance you will hit your target.
Increased Perception will also make it easier to commit crimes in the game.
#3. Endurance
Much like real life, high endurance will help you character withstand a lot of damage. Increased Endurance also raises your character's resistance to radiation.
#4. Charisma
Increased Charisma will give your character better people skills. Having this skill will make your character more likable and less prone to being attacked outright by NPC characters.
#5. Intelligence
High Intelligence will allow your characters to craft better items as well as increase their ability to heal.
#6. Agility
This stat can also aid with VATS, by giving the character more points to spends on the perk. High Agility also increases your character's stealth skill.
