HTC One A9 'Areo' Price, Specs & Features Leaked, See Full Details Here!
HTC's One A9 "Aero" is expected to make a splash at the company's upcoming October 20 event. However, even before the phone's official unveiling, more and more specs and features continue to leak online, and this time, GSM Arena has noted that a new benchmark was run for the model.
While the One A9 already went through a Geekbench run in September, the current GFXBench test showed very different specs.
According to GFXbench, HTC One A9 comes with a 5-inch display and 1920 x 1080 resolution. It is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 and Qualcomm Adreno 405. However, its memory is less impressive with a 16GB storage and no news regarding the expansion. For social media users, it has a 12MP back camera that can also shoot 1920 x1080 FHD. For selfies, it has a 4MP UltraPixel or a regular 5MP unit.
The prototype also saw that it ran on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is the same OS expected to be seen on the final device.
As for its design, HTC is giving it a traditional metallic look, in six different hues, all 7mm thick. The rest of the HTC One A9 features include a fingerprint sensore on the home button, and a rather inferior 2,150 mAh battery cell.
Leaked photos of the phone also revealed that the company has changed priorities this time, with the BoomSound speakers gone and replaced by rather indistinct one on the bottom edge of the device.
Design-wise, The Verge noted that One A9 is following the footsteps of Apple's iPhone 6, with its curved aluminum body design with inlaid plastic lines for antennas. The camera is protected with a circular hump, and along the side, the SIM and microSD card trays are located.
HTC USA has already tweeted its original teaser of the special media event for October 20 in New York City. Tech Radar noted that the clip showed black and white shots of a desert landscape paired with shots of wind and water, suggesting that this one may be more rugged than other designs, and may even be waterproof, although previous leaks suggest otherwise. The International Business Times noted that the phone goes by the tagline, "The next evolution of the One".
Although these specs haven't been confirmed yet, rumors suggest that with its performance, the HTC One A9 will be an upper-mid range device with a "competitive" price. Until the company releases new information, all HTC fans could do is wait for the official release.
