Christina Aguilera Working On New English, Spanish Albums
Christina Aguilera revealed that she is working on two new albums: one in English and one in Spanish.
The 34-year-old singer, who has Ecuadorian blood, said in a recent "Today Show" interview that the Spanish record will serve as the follow-up to her "Mi Refleio" released in 2000, UPI reported. Aguilera, whose last record released was "Lotus" in 2012, added that she is "loosely accumulating" ideas for her eighth studio album.
"I'm excited for my fans to finally be getting something from me," the Grammy Award-winner said, as quoted by UPI. "It's been a while."
Adds Aguilera, her upcoming album will take inspiration from her yoga regimen.
"[I'm] taking a love for yoga and breathing ... not looking at it as an exercise, but just feeling more one with the Earth and everyone being connected, it'll definitely have a reflection on the new record," she said, as reported by the news outlet.
The recording artist noted that she made "a lot of headway and progress on the record," assuring fans that they will see notable differences "between this record and others in the past," The National reported.
As for when she plans to release the album, Aguilera said that the record should be ready around the time when she returns to the live episodes of "The Voice" Season 10 in February 2016. She has been pre-taping the first part of the upcoming season this month, The National added.
The "Ain't No Other Man" singer said that she's trying to keep her big voice intact in between albums and concert tours. She also learned to care less about technicalities and is focusing on her signature style instead.
"Maybe when I was younger and very green to the business and just wanting to emulate my idols, I would try probably harder to cross T's and dot I's and hit certain notes," Aguilera explained, as quoted by The National. "But music is such an emotion to me and it's so felt from the heart, that at this point in my life it's really not about the image of a great singer, but the emotion of a great singer."
Christina Aguilera Hosting Campaign Fundraiser for Hillary Clinton
Aguilera is set to host a campaign fundraiser for Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
The event, which Aguilera organized with her producer fiancé, Matthew Rutler, will be held at the singer's Beverly Hills home on Nov. 4, People reported. A special performance by Aguilera honoring the former secretary of state is expected as well.
"She's such a force in a room," Aguilera said of Clinton in an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," as quoted by People. "She's got that star charisma and everything about her."
