'Daredevil' Season 2 Trailer & Cast: The Punisher & Elecktra Teased at New York City Comic Con
A teaser of Marvel's the "Daredevil" Netflix series released during the New York Comic-Con has revealed what fans should expect in the show's upcoming new season including additional characters: Elektra and the Punisher.
Two highly anticipated shows from Netflix and Marvel have received plenty of attention during Saturday's Comic-Con held in New York City as the studio revealed teasing clips from their upcoming seasons.
According to Variety, the teaser for the second season of "Daredevil" was unleashed alongside one for "Jessica Jones."
Despite the unexpected twist in "Jessica Jones," the media's attention was turned towards the 2016 return of the Charlie Cox-starrer series because its new season is expected to introduce favorite Marvel comic book characters Elektra and the Punisher.
The outlet narrated how the teaser went, starting with Matt Murdock a.k.a. the Daredevil looking devastated with his friends Foggy Nelson played by Elden Henson and Karen Page portrayed by Deborah Ann Woll, saying: "Why do I still feel guilty?"
As Father Lantom tries to ease his guilt by explaining how it could be a "good thing," the teaser then proceeds to a scene showing Foggy accompanied by authorities and Elekra, played by Elodie Yung, half-removing her mask to show the upper portion of her face.
Back in July, an update from Marvel's official website revealed how the "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" star was chosen to portray Elektra.
"After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra's impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity," explained Jeph Loeb, the Head of Marvel Television and the executive producer for "Daredevil."
"Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for," he added.
When asked how she felt about joining the series, Yung told The Hollywood Reporter how the experience had been "intense" but "exciting" at the same time.
"I can't be more happy, really," she added.
According to Cinema Blend, Also gave a first-look at the Punisher, another new character in the show who would be portrayed by the former "Walking Dead" actor, Jon Bernthal.
In the report, Loeb described Bernthal as someone who provides "an unmatched intensity" to every role he portrays, something the Punisher has been known for.
"Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle's appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same," he explained.
