Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 Cost & Review: Why It’s the Best Smartwatch On the Market
Samsung's newest wearable device, the Gear S2, is now tagged by some as the "best round smartwatch" in the market a few days after it was released.
Mashable said that a big component for such great product is its "completely new, classic look and gains every benefit of running the ultra-light and fast Tizen OS."
It added that the design is simple and beautiful coupled with an "excellent display and interface." The comfortable feel of the watch was also highlighted plus its great list of features especially the rotating bezel.
However, it was pointed out by Mashable that Samsung could have placed more metal on the back of the phone.
"The good-looking Samsung Gear S2 is the answer to the question, 'Which smartwatch should I get to pair with my Android phone?'" concluded Mashable.
In addition, Gizmag said that the watch also handles better the alert vibrations than the Android Wear.
"Sitting somewhere between Wear's buzzes and the Apple Watch's taps (the Gear's alerts are more like pulses), you can adjust between two strength settings. They're prominent enough that we never miss alerts when set to the stronger setting, something we can't say for most Android Wear watches," the same report explained.
It also added that the battery life of the device is remarkable which lasts up to three days.
Released last week, Samsung's newest smartwatch is the first one from the company which sports a round face and a rotating bezel, as per Chosun.
"The entire first 1,000 Gear S2s up for pre-sale on Sept. 18 were sold out within an hour," added the same report, indicating that Samsung fans indeed anticipated the release of the wearable device.
Android Central said that the Gear S2 is compatible with any device running on Android 4.4 and up and has 1.5 GB of RAM at the minimum.
Other highlights of the device include the capacity to call, send texts and access social media applications.
In a review, GizMag detailed that that the newly-released watch has the most exciting software to navigate.
"On a practical level, the rotating bezel lets you navigate around the watch without blocking the (relatively) small screen with your fingers," added the same report.
This feature reportedly makes scrolling through menus easier.
Aside from this, the 1.2-inch was also lauded since it is just big enough to work on tasks on your wearable device, as per GizMag.
On the other hand, Droid Life noted that the watch also has an amazing feel and a great design.
The Gear S2 costs $299 while the smaller but dressier S2 Classic has a $349.99 price tag.
Revealed at the IFA 2015 in Berlin, the Samsung Gear S2 also has a dual-core, 1 GHz clock, 4GB storage space and 512GB RAM. Other useful features of the smartwatch are the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, gyroscope and heart rate sensors.
