‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Inspires HP to Releases Special Edition Star Wars Laptop, Check It Out Here!
HP has teamed up with Disney to make the absolutely perfect laptop for Star Wars fans. Engadget even comments that the special edition Star Wars laptop "is so committed in its dorkiness it's hard not to be impressed by HP and Disney's attention to detail."
According to Tech Radar, the special edition laptop is actually the HP Pavilion 15-inch notebook fully decked out in Star Wars print, down to the box it will be sold in.
The box alone is collectible with Darth Vader's image front and center. There is a smaller box inside the package, which bear the words "You don't know the power of the dark side" underneath the flap. The smaller box contains the laptop's cables and other add-ons.
Before even seeing the laptop, HP reveals its eye for detail in the foam inserts surrounding the notebook, which are shaped into an Imperial Starfighter.
Then, there is the laptop itself. HP describes the chassis as having a battle-worn, distressed design. On the lid of the notebook is an image of a Stormtrooper and the X-wing Star Fighter Guidance System. Meanwhile, written in Aurebesh font on the hinge are the words "Galactic Empire."
Open up the laptop and on the touchpad is the X-Wing guidance system readout Luke Skywalker opts to turn off while in the Death Star trenches, states Cnet. More Darth Vader and Stormtrooper images can be seen as well.
The Star Wars laptop features do not end with the chassis alone. The built in software is also inspired by the intergalatic movie. For example, the recycle bin icon has turned into a Death Star icon. In addition, there are several Star Wars-inspired Windows themes and sounds, including an Aurebush sytem font.
Just in case that is not enough, HP has loaded more than 1,000 images into the laptop dedicated to the 40 years of Star Wars, including behind-the-scenes photos, storyboards and movie posters. Moreover, the tech company also includes several movie trailers and e-book excerpts.
The only downside to the Star Wars laptop is that it was not built for gaming. Although it does still have some pretty good hardware. Tech Radar describes the laptop as having a bright 1,080p, full HD display and has up to seven hours of battery life.
The special edition laptop comes with either Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. At its optimum best the HP Pavilion can be configured with 12GB of RAM and a 2TB hard drive.
A Star Wars-inspired laptop sleeve and a mouse are also available, but sold separately. The extra accessories are $40 each.
The HP Pavilion 15 Star Wars Special Edition is available today, November 8, 2015. The mid-range variant costs about $550, while the fully configured laptop will cost around $700.
