‘Boruto: Naruto The Movie' News: Film Gets New Weekend Release Date
Naruto fans in the United States will have to wait a bit longer for "Boruto: Naruto The Movie." According to CrossMap, the movie was supposed to be released in certain state theaters today, October 7, 2015. However, the released date was delayed a couple days in favor for the weekend. The new release date forthe "Boruto" movie is October 10, 2015.
"Boruto: Naruto The Movie" is an anime film, originally released in Japan. The movie is most likely being released in the U.S. due to its huge success in the anime's home country.
In fact, Anime News Network predicts that the "Boruto" movie beat the gross record of the last Naruto film, which was titled: "The Last: Naruto The Move." "The Last" grossed a total of 2 billion yen by the end of its run in theaters, which is equivalent to $16 million U.S. dollars.
"Boruto" seems to be earning record amounts at the box office as it grossed more than US $2.17 million on its first night alone. Moreover, on the movie's second night it earned another million dollars, bringing its cumulative total to US $3.26 million.
Realty Today reports that the "Boruto" movie will appear in select U.S. states, which include California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Arizona and Florida. Tickets are still available for the movie.
"Boruto" will focus on a fully grown Naruto and his familial relationships, particularly with his seventh son, Boruto. Cross Map explains that Naruto is actually doing well as a Hokage and hero, but not so decent as a father.
As a result, there is a rift between Naruto and his son, Boruto. As a matter of fact, Boruto despises Naruto so much, he works hard to surpass his father as a ninja and respected hero. In Boruto's mission to beat his father, he runs into Sasuke. Sasuke eventually takes Boruto in as his apprentice and the story picks up from there.
After watching Boruto's adventures, Naruto fans can look forward to the live-action Naruto movie. According to Screen Rant, Lionsgate is currently working on the live-action movie based off of Masashi Kishimoto's popular manga turned hit anime series.
Lionsgate has already reportedly found a director to the helm the movie in Michael Gracey, reports Nerdist. Gracey has worked on films like "The Greatest Show on Earth," "Rocketman" and "Daughter of Smoke and Bone."
