Apple Watch Hermes Now Available in Select Stores: Bands, Price & Review
The Apple Watch Hermès has rolled out in select stores in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Announced last month during the Apple event, the Hermès-branded steel wearable device can now be purchased from Apple and Hermès stores in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, and some European and Asian cities, as per MacWorld.
It noted that the watch comes in three styles and five colors for $1,100 to $1,500, depending on the size of the case and the style of the band.
"The Apple Watch Hermès comes in three leather band designs: Double Tour (wraps twice around the wrist), Single Tour (the buckle recalls those on the straps of a horse's girth), and the bulkier Cuff (also inspired by equestrian fixtures)," explained MacWorld.
The device is available in various colors like Fauve (brown), étain (grey), Capucine (light brown), Bleu Jean (blue) and Noir (black).
The clock collection from these two big companies also sport new clock faces, which were designed by the elite fashion brand and also bears its logo on the back.
iMore reported that Apple partnered with Hermes due to "parallel thinking, singular vision, and mutual regard" noting that it did not want to stick to traditional technology and methods.
"Apple Watch Hermès is the next stage of that thinking. For people who are are [interested] in Apple Watch, and appreciate brands like Hermès, it's simply going to be the Apple Watch they want to get, same as someone into performance activity will gravitate towards and Apple Watch Sport," added the same report.
On the other hand, Venture Beat highlighted that the device was carefully crafted to represent a great partnership of the two companies.
"It is a unique timepiece designed with both utility and beauty in mind. With leather straps handmade by Hermès artisans in France and an Hermès watch face reinterpreted by Apple designers in California, Apple Watch Hermès is a product of elegant, artful simplicity - the ultimate tool for modern life," the report quoted a marketing tagline of the new watch.
According to The Verge, Apple also partnered with Hermes to make the Apple Watch known as a luxury item.
"Hermès is one of the most respected brands in the fashion industry, and it's selective about which brands it partners with," added The Verge.
It also warned possible buyers that this watch cannot be purchased online but only in 70 retail stores worldwide, including high-end stores like Selfridges in London, Colette in Paris, and Maxfield in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, iMore described the watch as something very similar to the current Apple Watch collection with a stainless steel casing.
