'American Horror Story: Hotel' Cast, Trailer, & Plot: Lady Gaga Says Show Makes Her Feel 'So Alive'
The fifth season of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology, "American Horror Story" is as terrifying as ever. So much so that Variety has dubbed it as the series's "darkest" season yet.
The upside? It is also said to be the "sexiest".
But then again, none of the previous seasons featured Lady Gaga.
Producer Brad Falchuck shared, "We have all of these beautiful men on the show, incredibly sexy men who are incredibly open and you have Gaga who is also incredibly beautiful and sexual."
"How are you going to tell a story with Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga and not have it be sexy? It's impossible. They're inherently sexy, so what are you going to do?" he went on.
The sensational performer will debut as the bloodsucking, but well-dressed Countess on "American Horror Story: Hote" but despite her role as an undead person, Gaga maintains that her role made her feel the exact opposite.
She told the Associated Press, "It's been so fun. Everybody on this cast has been really open and available to me in a very honest way, so I'm able to be myself in a way I feel like I haven't been in a really long time, so they are just making me feel so alive."She also gushed, "I'm just really happy to be a part of it. I like being a part of someone else's vision -- it's really exhilarating."
In a tweet during the show's premiere on Sunday, Gaga also shared her excitement for her first premiere as an actress, adding that she's honored to be part of the cast, all of whom seemed to be as excited to work with her as well.
Cheyenne Jackson told Variety that Gaga brought a "joyful" presence on set, while Matt Bomer praised her as one of his favorite co-workers. Wes Bentley also said of the pop star, "She's amazing. It's not a surprise that she's a great actress. She brings intensity to all of her work. She brings that to this as well."
However, the biggest downer for the series is the absence of one of its veteran (and brightest) stars, Jessica Lange, who decided to forgo the fifth season. However, she is rumored to return in the next seasons, which means that for now, fans will have to enjoy this run's big stars.
"American Horror Story" will return for its fifth season on October 7 on FX.
