‘Captain Marvel’ Movie Casting Rumors: Kevin Feige Is Reading Your Fan-Casts List, 5 Possible Carol Danvers Candidates
The Captain Marvel movie is set to be released on November 2, 2018 and all fans talk about is "Who will play Ms. Marvel?" According to Comicbook, Marvel President, Kevin Feige, shared a few details about the movie's progress and even talked a bit about who could play the iconic character.
Unfortunately, Feige announced that fans will have to wait another year or so before Marvel announces its first female superhero to get her own solo movie.
"There won't be any announcements about that this year," the Marvel President told MTV.
"I think right now we're scripting the film, figuring out who we want Carol Danvers to be, and really what the structure of the movie will be and what her part will be in some of our other Phase 3 films. And it would be next year that we start to really think about casting."
Even though Marvel movie-makers are not thinking about casting, they are keeping tabs on who fans wants to play Ms. Marvel. In fact, Feige has admitted to reading several fan-casts lists.
Marvel film producer, Jeremy Latcham, confirmed the news, adding that some suggestions are "really enlightening." Other times, Feige and fans just do not see eye to eye.
"Sometimes it's the exact same person that they've been saying over and over again that we don't think is right. It's always fun to kinda go through it and see what people are up to," said Latcham.
Fans are constantly sharing their ideas on who should play Carol Danvers. Tumblr alone is filled with Captain Marvel suggestions, from Emily Blunt to Natalie Dormer.
Mary Sue also agrees that both Blunt and Dormer are good choices to play Ms. Marvel. Both actresses have shown that they can play both kickass parts and more demure ones as well.
Dormer showed her tough side in "The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay" Part 1 and a softer more sly side on "Game of Thrones." On the other hand, Blunt has shown she could get rough and tough as well in the hit movie "Edge of Tomorrow."
