HTC Devices to Support Android 6.0 Marshmallow, See Full List Here!
HTC users could be in for some treat as a recent leak revealed that a list of the company's smartphones which will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
Android Community noted that the following device will reportedly get the update as per the leak from Twitter user @LlabTooFer:
- HTC One M8
- HTC One M8s
- HTC M8 EYE
- HTC One E8
- HTC Desire EYE
- HTC Desire 816
- HTC Desire 820
- HTC Desire 826
- HTC One M9
- HTC One M9+
- HTC One ME
- HTC One E9
- HTC One E9+
- HTC Butterfly 2
- HTC Butterfly 3
Last week, it was also reportedly revealed that some HTC phones like the HTC One M9, One (M8) and One (M7) will be Android Pay-ready along with handsets from other mobile developers.
"HTC seems to work really hard to be at the forefront of some areas in the mobile industry. It may not be the top Android device maker or the company may not be even making a lot of money these days, but it's been working closely with Google lately for some services," explained Android Community.
In addition, the International Business Times (IBT) said that devices with limited internal storage capacity will not the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
Meanwhile, HTC USA also confirmed the coming of the update to their phones saying "We're roasting marshmallows this fall! We'll begin our Android 6.0 rollout to devices before the end of the year."
Another announcement on the company's Twitter account mentioned that they will be launching a Marshmallow device come Oct. 20.
"And one more thing... We'll be one of the first to drop a new Marshmallow device. Revealed 10/20 #BeBrilliant," the tweet read.
According to Engadget, HTC will be one of the first to release a phone which will run on the latest Android update.
"There's no indication as to whether we can expect this to be the leaky 'Aero' aka "A9," but we'd like to think that the coal on HTC's flyer is hinting at the model's 'carbon gray' color option," added the same report.
Earlier in September, the HTC One A9 Aero was rumoured to be launched with top-of-the-line features and specifications.
NDTV Gadgets said earlier leaked images of the device show that its design profile is similar to the iPhone 6.
"The rear panel looks similar to that of iPhone 6, featuring two antenna strips on top and bottom alongside the same bold curved handset edges," added the same report.
In addition, Gospel Herald said there is still no confirmation from HTC about the specifications of the device but noted that it could sport a Quad HD or 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 4 and 2.5D curved edges.
As for its processor, the new phone instalment is believed to be powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset with a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics processor and 4GB of RAM.
