Samsung Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge Release Date & Price: Top 5 Specs & Features [Latest Rumors]
After only a few months on the shelves, Samsung users are ready to move on from the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to the Galaxy S7 line. But while it's too early to for confirmation on the upcoming products from the brand, there are already a lot of rumors surrounding the new flagship models. Here are some of them:
1) Samsung is experimenting with light but tough magnesium-based alloy for the Galaxy S7, which will make the phone stronger and will allow the heat to be let out when the processor is hyped on work.
2) It has also been reported by iNews 24 and that it may come with a stronger protective glass --- the Turtle Glass --- according to Korean site Kbench. For the screen, Tech Radar said that it's going to be much bigger than the Galaxy S6 with its 5.7-inch screen.
3) An AnTuTu benchmark showed the Galaxy S7 models to have a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front shutter for selfies. However, these specs are similar to the Galaxy S6 Samsung's cameras have been deemed to be on top of the market, as noted by TechRadar so that may not be such a bad thing.
4) Yibada also added that the Galaxy S7 will come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor, which is said to be featured in some of the biggest phones of 2016. However, this update is a bit questionable considering that Samsung already cut the ties with Qualcomm for the Galaxy S6 models, using instead, their own Exynos processor. As for the OS, it is almost certain that Samsung will release its latest model with the Android Marshmallow, which is the latest offering from Google.
5) Finally, the S7 models are said to be equipped with fingerprint scanners, like the previous models, but the best news os that it might add a microSD card slot to expand the phones' memory, considering that rumors of their internal storage capacities only go up to 64GB.
As for the price, Tech Radar noted that the Samsung Galaxy S7 models may be on the expensive side, probably starting at around $650. There is also the possibility of an early release date --- possibly January or February, as noted by an analyst at SK Securities, because as it turned out, Samsung started working on the Galaxy S7 models 2 to 3 months ahead of schedule.
Of course, considering that Samsung still did not confirm any of these specs and features, it is expected that these rumors will be treated lightly --- there is no way to confirm details until the company releases their own statement.
