Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date & Price: Confirmed Specs & Features in This List? [Rumors]
Microsoft is ready to reveal its new Surface Pro model during the upcoming event in New York and a lot of speculations are already underfoot. Here are some specs and features that have been rumored for the upcoming Surface Pro 4:
1) According to PC Tablet, it is expected to be made of the same magnesium alloy from its predecessor, but thinner and lighter.
2) It is also expected to appear in two sizes --- the 12-inch and 14-inch models.
3) Inside the gadget and Intel 6th generation Skylake processor is expected to be used in order to go with the thinner and lighter design. The processor is also expected to fix the heating issues that the Surface Pro 3 faced. What isn't certain, according to Tech Radar, is whether or not Microsoft will use the Core M line. This is important because the Core M will allow for the company to ditch the fan inside the laptop-tablet hybrid, cutting down noise and allowing more room for other components, without compromising thinness and design.
4) It is said to be loaded with 8GB and 16GB of LPDDR4 RAM and is expected to have a variety of storage space as well, raging from 128GB/256GB/512GB, and a probably 1TB version expected to appear on the shelves. As for its other storage specifications, the Surface Pro 4 is said to introduce a USB Type-C port for storage devices.
5) The best feature, however, is the unified approach of the Windows 10 operating system that will let all your apps running on the PC, run on the Surface Pro 4 as well in an efficient syncing process.
6) There is also the use of Windows Hello for secure logins this will need for the pro to be equipped with a compatible camera or fingerprint scanner. However, with the bulky RealSense camera used, it might be difficult to add it in without compromising the device's design.
7) The gadget will also come with new accessories, especially with the company's acquisition of the N-Trig, an Israel-based company that is behind the Surface Pro's sensitive stylus technology, helping with the new Edge browser's handwriting functionality.
8) As for the price, it is expected that the Surface Pro 4 will cost around the same as its predecessors, which means that it could start at around $800.
However, because Microsoft still hasn't confirmed any of these specs and features, fans will have to take these with a grain of salt and wait until the event on October 4 to find out exactly what the Surface Pro 4 has to offer.
