Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice' Trailer, Plot & Cast: Rumor Round-Up, What We Know So Far
With the premiere date of DC's most awaited movie "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" nearing, it is time to separate rumors from facts. First off, Cinema Blend explains that "Dawn of Justice" takes place directly after Superman's battle with General Zod, making it the sequel to Henry Cavill's "Man of Steel" movie.
In the upcoming DC superhero flick, Superman's intentions will be questioned and Batman will be the one doing all the interrogating. Society has conflicting opinions about Superman. One side perceives the powerful alien as god-like or god-sent, while the other sees him as a threat that must be extinguished. Batman falls on the latter side.
An older Batman (Ben Affleck) is seen in the film and has previously been described as "tired, weary and seasoned." There are rumors spreading that the Batman in the film has already succeeded in ridding Gotham City of all crimes, however the claims have yet to be verified.
On another note, Slash Film noted that Superman basically leveled the Wayne Financial building based in Metropolis, as seen below in the official trailer for the movie.
The site speculates that Superman's reckless battle with General Zod has not only caused Bruce Wayne his bank building, but also some very personal casualties. As a result, a retired Wayne dusts off his Batman suit and seeks out Superman to atone for his crimes.
While Batman is on the prowl for Superman, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) can be seen working his way into the alien superhero's head. According to Cinema Blend, Luthor is the brain of a possible two-villain team. If Luthor is the brain, then Doomsday is the muscle. However, there is still no evidence to prove that Doomsday will be featured in "Dawn of Justice."
Besides the Dark Knight and Superman, the movie also will feature other notable DC superheroes in preparation for the "Justice League" movie.
So far, it has been confirmed that Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will have parts in "Dawn of Justice," although the extent of their roles is unknown. Cinema Blend also confirms that Wonder Woman and Aquaman will have their own solo movies, along with the other members of the superhero team: The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
According to Screen Rant, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on March 25, 2016. Prior to the "Justice League" movie, "Suicide Squad" and "Wonder Woman" will be released on August 5, 2016 and June 23, 2017, respectively.
Meanwhile, solo movies for the Flash and Aquaman will premiere after the "Justice League" film on March 23, 2018 and July 27, 2018, respectively.
Who wins the highly-anticipated battle, will it be Batman or Superman?
