Amanda Bynes Mental Health Update: Actress Spotted Shopping in LA Post-Rehab Treatment
Amanda Bynes seems to be much healthier and happier since receiving inpatient care at a luxury rehabilitation facility in Malibu for the last four months.
On Sunday, the 27-year-old actress was spotted shopping in Los Angeles, wearing a floral sweatshirt, grey skinny jeans and pink and purple Nike sneakers. She topped it off with a pair of shades and long golden curls in her hair, reports Us Weekly.
Needless to say, the troubled star has come a long way from when she shamelessly sported a messy platinum blonde wig in public and in court earlier this year. She also shaved her head and seemed discombobulated when she was photographed in public. Bynes was finally committed to a psychiatric hospital on July 22 after setting fire to a stranger's driveway in Thousand Oaks, Calif. around the corner from her parents' home. She was also rumored to have been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
In September, Bynes left UCLA's famed psychiatric center and moved to a luxurious rehabilitation facility in Malibu called The Canyon, reports The New York Daily News .
Now Bynes seems to be on the right track in piecing her life back together. She is currently living at her parents' house in Los Angeles and has already spent a day in Disneyland with her parents and paid a visit to a fashion school in California.
A couple of weeks ago, the former child star, who has expressed an interest in pursuing a fashion career, was spotted touring the Orange County campus of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
Bynes, who collaborated on a line called "Dear" for Steve & Barry back in 2007, is "now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design," said her lawyer Tamar Arminak. "She's mentioned before she's interested in creating a clothing line."
Arminak also said that Bynes is continuing outpatient treatment.
