Azealia Banks Flight Attendant Incident at LAX: Rapper Fires Back at Homophobic Comments
Azealia Banks is at it again, this time, ranting in a plane at the LAX.
The 24-year-old rapper was recorded to have been in a verbal altercation with a couple in the aisle of the plane. A male flight attendant attempted to intervene, but she demanded him to give her back her bags and proceeded on to calling him a "f---ing f----t".
According to E! News, no charges were pressed, but because of this, the police could not confirm whether or not it was indeed the Aussie rapper who caused a scene inside the plane.
However, a spokesperson confirmed that the LAX Police were called in at 12:50 am about a disorderly female passenger. Police officers spoke with witnesses and individuals involved in the incident, but due to the man and woman involved in the altercation refusing to press charges, there's nothing to do but release the disruptive passenger.
However, there is no need for confirmation from the authorities as Banks, who is known for her Twitter rants, took to the microblogging site her experience at the LAX. She started with a photo of herself, captioned, "on a plane waiting for another bitch ass flight attendant to try me."
Her rather unbecoming behavior at the plane, which was videoed and obtained by TMZ caused a lot of backlash from the public. Entertainment Tonight cited one Twitter user, saying "You think because you associate with ppl of the LGBT community, that justify this negative thing u do. You're the problem."
Another wrote, "@AZEALIABANKS they would've given you your bags if you hadn't acted like a spoiled brat."
Banks then defended herself for using the homophobic term, saying, "I am bisexual. my brother is trans. My employees are all gay men. Nothing else to say." She also added, "Cause yall KNOW, that they would've politely handed a white woman her bags and a spritzer. #whatever."
Entertainment Tonight mentioned that this is not the first time that the rapper found herself in hot water regarding the use of the term. In 2013, she was called out for calling Perez Hilton the same slur. She defended herself for using the word, telling The Guardian that "A lot of gay men are way more misogynistic than straight men. The sh*t they say about women behind their backs, it's like, 'Wow, oh my God!'
She also gave her own definition of the word, claiming that "A f***ot is anybody that hates women."
What do you think of her behavior as a passenger on a plane, and do you agree with her denial of her homophobia?
