‘One Direction’ News: Band Releases Second Song for New Album & Steals Show at Apple Music Festival [Listen]
One Direction fans received a welcomed surprise yesterday, when their favorite band not only announced the release date of their new album, but also a new song.
According to Entertainment Weekly, all members of One Direction -- with the exception of Zayn Malik -- announced their upcoming album's title and a new song in a video posted on Twitter.
According to E!, the new album will be called "Made in the AM." The album title was released with a second song from the album called, "Infinity." The new song was written by John Ryan, Jamie Scott, Julian Bunetta, reports EW.
The same team of songwriters wrote the 1D hit, "Story of My Life." "Infinity" features heart-wrenching lyrics like "How many nights does it take to count the stars? That's the time it would take to fix my heart."
To add to the excitement, "Infinity" is already available for instant download with every pre-order of "Made in the AM." The new 1D album is expected to drop on November 13, 2015, which also happens to be the same day Justin Bieber is set to release his new album, reports Philly.
According to the site, it will be interesting to see how the two pop albums will do against each other. So far, the first single of 1D's fifth album, "Drag Me Down," has topped the UK Singles chart, earned third place in the US Billboard Chart and broke the worldwide streaming record.
On the other hand, Bieber's new album will include his transatlantic hit, "What Do You Mean?" as well as "Where Are U Now."
Meanwhile, in other 1D news, the band stole the show at London's Apple Music Festival. Following the announcement of their new song and album title, the popular boy band performed in front of a packed audience at the Roundhouse in Camden.
Payne talked to the audience directly, saying: "You guys really are the best fans in the world and those of you who aren't fans will be. It has been an amazing five years -- thank you so much."
According to BT, One Direction started their set with "Steal My Girl."1D fans cheered as Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne took the stage and belted out some of the songs from their previous albums, including "Story of My life" and "What Makes You Beautiful." The boy band finished their set on a good note with "Best Song Ever."
