MacBook Air 2016 Release Date & Price: Is This Apple's New Laptop? Specs & Features Tipped! [Rumors]
It seems that the MacBook Air 2016 will be released in 2015, just in time for the holiday season.
In a report by the Christian Post, the Cupertino tech giant has decided to up its production, with rumors of the 2016 MacBook Air set to make its appearance in two weeks, making it a bit earlier than the traditional first quarter of the year launch. Although this seems to be far-fetched, the price drop of the existing MacBooks on the market is enough to have this rumor be take pretty seriously.
However, if said rumors are true, then that would mean that the 2016 model is just at the heels of the 2015, which was just recently released to the public.
Additionally, if these rumors turn out to be correct, then those who waited for awhile for their next MacBook are going to be rewarded: the MacBook Air 2016, which comes just a few months after the last model will sport two major upgrades.
First is the processor. Christian Post noted that the 2016 laptop will be carrying the latest Skylake-U processor as well as the new GeForce GTX 950 Nvidia GPU. With this powerful combination, the MacBook Air 2016 is reported to be a game-friendly device with improved performance and extended battery life.
It is also said to include the GameStream Co-op, which was released only last Tuesday in the form of early access beta. The GameStream will allow gamers to stream local Co-op games to friends, as well as permit remote players to participate via streaming.
Among the other features reported to be included in the 2016 MacBook Air are the advanced Retina display, Force Touch technology, and the USB Type-C support. It is also likely to hit the shelves running on Apple's upcoming OS, the X El Capitan.
There are rumors about a possibility of the device getting a wireless charging feature, although, like many other rumors surrounding the upcoming laptop, it has been warned that this particular rumor should be taken as lightly as its alleged release date.
As for the price, the 2016 MacBook Air is said to be among the lowest-priced models ever, starting at only $899 despite its high-end specs. This should be good news for the fans considering that many of them fear, as Venture Capital Post noted, that the rumored cost may sacrifice the quality of the 2016 MacBook Air, but as of the latest specs and features rumors, that does not seem to be the case. However, until the company announces the actual price, MacBook fans will just have to wait and see how this model will fare for them.
