'Supergirl' Season 1 Episode 1 Release Date, Cast & Spoilers: Red Tornado Has Impeccable Likeness to Paul Bettany's Vision
The premiere of CBS's "Supergirl" is all ready for takeoff this fall as the show's makers release a teasing photo of Idda Goldberga all suited up to portray the show's first major villain, Red Tornado.
Dubbed as "one of the most anticipated shows of the fall" by USA Today, the TV series starring "Glee" actress Melissa Benoist has made it a point to show that the show is not something Marvel should just shrug off by flaunting some of its characters' costumes.
The photo in question was first revealed in the CBS official website which described the show's antagonist as "the world's most advanced, nefarious android" and "the ultimate weapon."
Israeli actor Iddo Goldberg, who starred in "Defiance," "The Tourist," and "Salem," will play the villainous character during the entire show as well as its creator, the evil scientist Dr. T.O. Morrow.
According to Den of Geek, the Red Tornado is a superhero in the comic books who later on joins the Justice League to fight evil alongside fan-favorite heroes like Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern, the Flash and many others.
This, however, was something CBS has changed in its entirety as Comic Book described him to as "a grave danger to National City -- including the people Supergirl cares about most."
While the show would indeed introduce Red Tornado as a villain, Den of Geek and others still believe that the studio would show his "good" side though as of the moment that would remain mere speculations.
But that is not the reason why the Internet is hyped after the photo was released.
Interestingly, that particular character that many outlets in the upcoming CBS show looks impeccably like Paul Bettany's The Vision in the Marvel film "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
USA Today noted how the DC character sports the same face paint and "weird face guard" that is a wee bit more scarlet but "less cool-looking" than the Marvel superhero.
Of course, the outlet was not the only one who noticed.
In fact, Twitter user Krypton Site even posted a photo of the two characters side-by-side, surveying his followers with a poll question, "Who wore it better?"
As of the writing of this article, the poll results from the Tweet revealed that the audience liked how The Vision carried the "outfit."
Joining Benoist and Goldberg in "Supergirl" are a stellar cast which includes Channing Tatum's spouse Jenna Dewan-Tatum who would play Lucy, the younger sister of Lois Lane; Chris Browning as Supergirl foe Ben Krull a.k.a. Reactro; and Peter Facinelli playing Maxwell Lord, a billionaire who uses his money to create chaos.
