'Captain America; Civil War' Cast, Trailer & Release Date: Sebastian Stan Slams DC Director Zack Snyder's Marvel Diss
"Captain America" star Sebastian Stan responds to Zack Snyder's Marvel diss by lobbying his opinion on the contending DC Cinematic Universe where the director belongs to.
According to IGN, people associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe are not happy with the "Batman v. Superman" director after he called the MCU's "Ant-Man" film as "the flavor of the week."
Earlier this month, Snyder tossed a couple of jabs at the MCU while discussing how he and Warner Bros. are carefully setting up DC's own cinematic universe.
"They're not just, like, the flavor of the week Ant-Man-not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?" he told The Daily Beast while explaining why he thinks that his DC film is "immune" to downfall.
Of course, people associated with the MCU are not happy after learning about this, with Stan who plays Bucky Barnes a.k.a. The Winter Soldier firing back at the helmer with criticisms of his own.
"Yeah, I'm sitting here and I'm listening to you and I'm thinking, 'Do I want to fire some shots at DC right now, at Zack Snyder?' I read some of those comments where he said something about Batman and Superman, I can't remember where I read that, somewhere," the actor stated during an interview with Collider during the Toronto International Film Festival.
He further responded to Snyder's "flavor of the week" comments by declaring that Marvel would not be "trying to mimic a better Christopher Nolan movie or something like that" but would instead make something "very original."
"Something about, 'It's not going to be your flavor-of-the-week Ant-Man.' And I was like, 'Oh thanks, Zack. That's great. Way to do something original,'" he said in response to Snyder's comments.
"I mean, the Russos are coming in and taking something people are used to and they're shaping it up and changing it in a very different way," he continued, adding that Marvel would definitely do what Snyder did with what Collider dubbed as a "pale imitation of a Christopher Nolan film."
Stan first appeared as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Captain America: The First Avenger" before he gained the alias "The Winter Soldier" during the franchise's second film.
He will be reprising his role in the third 'stand-alone' movie of Chris Evans' Captain Steve Rogers in "Captain America: Civil War" where he is rumored to be fighting alongside of his best friend against the other Avenger's team led by Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man.
