'GTA' Online Freemode Events DLC: Updates & Additional Features for PS4, Xbox One & PC
On Tuesday, Grand Theft Auto Online released a Freemode Events DLC for users of Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
MXDWN said this newest release for GTA was made to address issues of the game and also add these "freemode events" every 12 minutes of playing time.
"Players can opt into the events at their will but also have the option of just observing or actually interfering in the event," added the same report.
The events can reportedly be found on the free roam area of the game with rewards promised to players who perform well.
According to GameSpot, this Freemode Events promises a new way to play for the users with "no loading screens or lobbies."
It added that some 20 events have been made available by GTA Online. One example is "Hunt the Beast" where players can be turned to werewolves who will run with the rest of the gamers to hunt and kill the beast.
Other events also include King of the Castle, Hot Property, Moving Target, Kill List, Penned In, Criminal Damage and Hold The Wheel, which MXDWN described in detail:
King of the Castle - Players have the task to take a territory and protect it from other players.
Hot Property - In this event, players compete for a briefcase as they try to survive and those who will be able to hold the case for the longest time will be rewarded.
Moving Target - "The first player who enters a marked vehicle will be tasked with delivering it to a safe zone, all while trying to out maneuver all the other players trying to stop him," noted MXDWN.
Kill List - Here, gamers have the goal to fight with Merryweather mercenaries and they will be given rewards for every kill.
The PlayStation blog also noted that two adversary modes have also been included which it detailed below:
Cross the Line: Heavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone - with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory.
Hunting Pack: You're part of a team tasked to deliver a priority vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a minimum speed, while your opponents race, ram and batter to take it down.
It was also noted in the GameSpot report that those gamers who will be able to complete five new challenges from September 15 and September 20 will be rewarded with $50,000 GTA bonus and an exclusive T-shirt.
Aside from this DLC release, PlayStation said Rockstar Editor was also launched on the PS4 which now comes with great additional features like "an ambient audio and sound effects library, Snapmatic integration, Director Mode updates, and new fonts."
