‘Star Wars Battlefront’ Deluxe Edition Sold With Exclusive Han Solo Mini-Fridge
Mini-fridges seem to be a growing fad in the gaming industry, with a Han Solo gaming bundle being recently announced. According to GameSpot, the "Star Wars" character-inspired fridge is available exclusively at Wal-Mart.
The bundle includes the mini-fridge and the Deluxe Edition of "Star Wars Battlefront." The whole set costs about $130, while the game alone costs $70. The special package is available only for the PS4 and Xbox One.
PC users will have to buy the fridge separately, or just have two copies of the "Star Wars Battlefront."
The fridge is designed with a Han Solo carbonite block at the front, reports IGN. "Star Wars" fans will remember that Han Solo was trapped inside the carbonite block from the end of "The Empire Strikes Back" and the beginning of "Return of the Jedi."
On the side of the fridge are the words, "Star Wars." Polygon states that the fridge is an official "Star Wars" product. In addition to its good looks, the fridge does seem to be quite useful, specially for gamers.
IGN explains that the fridge has both cooling and warming functions. Gamers can either keep their drinks cold, or their dinners warm. At 10 x 7.48 x 12.2 inches, the Han Solo fridge can hold a total of six 12 oz. soda cans. It also comes with a divider for multiple storage and a 12V DC power cord for cars.
There are several in-game bonus content available within the deluxe edition, including the Ion Grenade, the Ion Torpedo, Han Solo's DL-44 blaster, the Ion Shock emote and the Victory emote.
"Star Wars Battlefront" is set to launch on November 17, 2015 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Gamers can try out "Battlefront" this October when the demo releases. The demo will be available on all platforms and there is no need to preorder it.
Other than "Battlefront," the Juggernog edition of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" also comes with a mini-fridge inspired by the game. According to the official "Call of Duty" website, the mini-fridge for "Black Ops III" was designed after the perk-a-Cola machine.
The fridge has lights and audio that come straight from the game as well. Unlike the Han Solo fridge, the Juggernog fridge can hold up to twelve cans of 12 oz cans of soda. It is dubbed as the "ultimate Collector's Edition for 'Black Ops' fans."
