'Jack Reacher 2' Movie Trailer & Release Date: Is This The New Cast Member? [Spoilers]
Paramount and Skydance Pictures is all set to introduce a new face in the "Jack Reacher" sequel that features A-list actor and all-time favorite spy movie actor Tom Cruise.
According to Variety, Danika Yarosh has been tapped to play the protagonist's daughter in the sequel of the 2012 film "Jack Reacher" based on Lee Child's action-packed book series of the same title.
Yarosh stood out among a group of girls who tested with the 53-year-old actor because of the "chemistry reads" she has with the actor that the studio would not dare overlook.
"Sources say her chemistry reads were hard for the studio and actor to overlook and the choice became fairly clear over the past week," the report explained.
However, Variety insider sources noted the 16-year-old actress' casting may face a possible dilemma because of a conflict of schedule with the movie's filming due to begin this November and is set to find the perfect actor to play the villain of the film.
Yarosh would soon be featured in NBC's new drama series "Heroes Reborn" as 'Malina' upon its debut on September 24.
According to her NBC profile, she earned her first big break on Showtime's "Shameless" for portraying a trouble-making character, Holly.
Aside from the American actress, the film's cast is also set to be joined by "Avengers" star Cobie Smulders under the direction of Academy award winner Ed Zwick.
According to the outlet, the sequel to one of Cruise's action movies is expected to top the box office charts considering how the first movie grossed as much as $218 million from worldwide sales under the skillfulhelming of Christopher McQuarrie.
This, according to the Hollywood Reporter, was all thanks to the ancillary or non-theatrical markets.
Now, the new Jack Reacher film would be based on Child's book "Never Go Back" which was released in 2013 which sees the protagonist reaching Virginia after "an epic and interrupted journey" along the snowy South Dakota.
There, he proceeds to his old unit which can be considered as the closest thing he has to a home.
According to the book's synopsis posted on Good Reads, Reacher wishes to meet Major Susan Turner, the new commanding officer, only to find the seat behind the officer's desk occupied by a man.
As the story goes on, he later learns that he himself is in grave trouble after being accused of a 16-year-old homicide.
The film is scheduled to be shown on the silver screen by October 21, 2016.
