'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 Trailer, Spoilers & Premiere: New Cast Photos Released!
Disney and ABC's "Once Upon A Time" Season 5 would soon see Princess Merida among the ranks of fan-favorite heroines as well as other fictional characters from popular fairy tale stories.
The upcoming new season of the Disney-ABC TV series would soon be graced with the presence of the Viking princess, Merida, the red-headed protagonist of the popular Disney animated film "Brave."
According to Comic Book, OUAT's new season would soon see Scottish actress Amy Manson as Merida as well as Liam Garrigan, Andrew Jenkins and Sinqua Walls who would portray the valiant men of Camelot: King Arthur, Percival and Lancelot.
Now, Disney has released a first look at how all of these new arrivals would look like, particularly the freckled Viking princess, in a slideshow posted over YouTube entitled "Meet Merida-Once Upon A Time."
See video below.
TV Line cited how the Comic-Con panel of cast members of the show revealed Merida as one of the featured characters of Season 5 with a short snippet from the TV series showing the bow-and-arrow-wielding princess during target practice.
Of course, the show's new season would still see familiar faces like fan-favorites Rumplestiltskin played by Robert Carlyle and Emma Swan a.k.a. the Dark Swan portrayed by Jennifer Morrison whose character would be facing "the darkness in herself."
"A lot of Season 4 was about her confidence being shaken. It cut her belief in herself. She's going to face the darkness in herself ... instead of repressing it," Morrison explained, referring to Emma and her origins that were kept secret by Charming and Snow.
According to TV Fanatic, Emma would be journeying through the Enchanted Forest to Camelot to see Merlin in the hopes that the sorcerer would be able to reverse the curse of the Dark One.
There, she would cross paths with Merida and the brave men of Camelot: King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
All three men and the princess would soon band together to provide assistance to the unwilling Dark One to reverse the curse.
Meanwhile, Carlyle teased how his character, Rumplestiltskin, would come out as 'slightly different' from what the audience saw during the past seasons of the show.
"He's lost his mantle as the Dark One, but that's not to say he doesn't have the same kind of trickery about him. ... And Mr. Gold is presently in a coma, so he's not doing too much," he explained.
