"Fast & Furious" actor Paul Walker's untimely death in 2013 caused many fans to grieve. In a tribute to what would have been his 42nd birthday on Saturday, September 12, his family is ensuring that they will carry on his philanthropic legacy.

His brother, Cody Walker joined Reach Out Worldwide as its brand manager last year. For those who are unfamiliar with it, ROWW is a relief charity close to the actor's heart. As CNN noted, Paul attended the charity's holiday toy drive just before his car crashed on November 30, 2013. The latest event that Cody is participating in is the International Sunrise and Sunset Around The World Day, an annual event that Paul's friend, Jesse Brisendine started to help raise awareness and funds for the ROWW.

His daughter, Meadow Walker, on the other hand, marked his birthday by announcing the launch of the Paul Walker Foundation, where she plans on carrying out his legacy be helping to protect and research ocean life by granting scholarships for students to study marine science. They will also be given the chance to work with the Montery Bay Aquarium. The Independent UK noted that the "Fast & Furious" star also studied marine biology and spent a lot of free time in the ocean.

Meadow was only 15, when her father died, but she's been working to protect his legacy. In an Instagram post, she wrote, "Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others."

She also added, "I am tremendously proud to be launching The#PaulWalkerFoundation(@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father."

This is fitting, considering how much the actor loved the ocean. Friends and family honored him by holding a small celebration. Cody told People Magazine, "I don't know anyone that loves the ocean as much as Paul did. It will always remind me of him. So, on his birthday, that's where I'll be."

He also shared, "We will have a small celebration for Paul with close friends and family - nothing big. Paul was a low-key guy."
